Exploring recipes for kids is really taxing job for most of the mothers.I am here with KIDS LUNCH BOX RECIPES from MONDAY to SATURDAY.All the recipes are really tasty and nourishing.Ofcourse children will love to eat such yummy food.

Aloo bonda

Children love to eat Aloo, so they will enjoy Aloo bonda.Aloo bonda is made with gramflour covering with aloo stuffing.

Ingredients

For covering

Chickpea flour – 11/2 cup

Carrom seeds – 1/4 spoon

Salt as per taste

For stuffing

Boiled,peeled and mashed potatoes – 3

Peas – 2 spoons

Green coriander leaves – 2 spoons

Paneer – 30 grams

Grated ginger – 1 spoon

Chopped onion – 1/4 cup

Chopped green chilly – 1 spoon

Oil – 2 spoons

Cumin seeds – 1 spoon

Asafoetida – 1/2 pinch

Red chilly powder – 1/4 spoon

Turmeric powder – 1/4 spoon

Garam masala – 1/4 spoon

Raisins – 15

Method

Pour chickpea flour,carrom seeds and salt in a mixing bowl.Mix all the ingredients.

Make a paste by adding water in instalments.The batter should neither be too thick nor too runny.

Keep the batter for rest for 1/2 an hour.

To make stuffing,Heat a pan and pour oil.

Add cumin seeds and asafoetida when oil is hot.

Add grated ginger and chopped green chilly when cumin seeds splutter.

When ginger and green chillies are done,add chopped onions.

Add red chilly powder and turmeric powder when onions are translucent.When red chilly powder and turmeric powder are done,add peas,raisins and paneer.Mix.

Add mashed potatoes and mix well.

Add garam masala,green coriander leaves,lemon juice and salt.Mix well.

Stuffing is ready.

When cold,make balls of stuffing.

After rest,adjust the consistency of batter by adding water.

Dip the balls in the batter one by one,and fry in the medium high heat.

 

Serve bondas with green chutney or tamarind chutney.

Moong dal cheela

Moong dal cheela is made from split moong dal.Paneer is used in stuffing,so,It is highly nutritious.This means it is a perfect LUNCH BOX RECIPE

Ingredients

For batter

Split moong dal – 1/2 cup

Chopped green coriander leaves – 1/2 cup

Chopped onions – 1 spoon

Grated ginger – 1/2 spoon

Salt – as per taste

For stuffing

Paneer – 50 gram

Chopped onion – 2 spoon

Green coriander leaves – 1 spoon

Cumin seeds – 1/2 spoon

Red chilly powder – 1/8 spoon

turmeric powder – 1/4 spoon

Tomato sauce – 1 spoon

Oil – 2 spoons

Oil for making cheelas

Method

Soak moong dal for 4 hours.

Siever water except 2 spoons.

Blend moong dal,coriander leaves,chopped onions,grated ginger to a fine paste.

Transfer paste to a mixing bowl.

Keep it for rest for 15 minutes.

For stuffing,heat a pan.Add 2 spoons of oil.

Add cumin seeds when oil is hot.

Now pour chopped onion and saute till a little crunchy.

Add red chilly powder and turmeric powder.Saute till done.

Add paneer and mix.Saute for a moment.

Add corinder leaves,salt and tomato sauce.

Mix well.

Stuffing is ready.

Heat a non stick pan.

Grease it.

Adjust the consistency of batter if needed and add salt as per taste.

To make soft cheelas,beat the batter so that air get incorporated in the batter.

Pour 1 ladel of batter and spread.

Flip when brown.

Spread paneer stuffing and fold the cheela.

Enjoy.

Nutritious parantha

It has the protein of moong dal,taste of potato,so perfect for kids.Roll the parantha in a shape of your kid’s liking.

Ingredient

Wholewheat flour – 1 cup

Boiled,peeled,mashed potato – 1

Dhuli moong dal – 1/2 cup

Chopped onion – 1 spoon

Chopped coriander leaves – 2 spoons

Grated ginger – 1 spoon

Chopped  green chilly Р1 spoon

Salt – as per taste

Method

Soak moong dal for 2 hours.

Blend moong dal,coriander leaves,green chilly,ginger,salt with 2 spoons of water to a fine paste.

In a big vessel,take wheatflour,mashed potato.

Make dough of wheatflour with dal paste.Apply ghee on the dough ang keep it for rest for 1/2 an hour.

After rest knead the dough for minute or two.

Take a portion of dough,roll into a ball and then flatten into a chapati.

Apply ghee and fold.Again roll and it will emerge as a parantha.

Heat a tawa.Put parantha on the tawa.

Shallow fry the parantha.

Make all in the same manner.

Sooji cutlets

Sooji cutlets is a perfect lunch box recipe.Easy to carry,handy and children will love to relish.It is easily digestible and full of fibre.

Ingredients

Semolina – 1 cup

Chopped capsicum – 1 spoon

Chopped beans – 1 spoon

Peas – 1 spoon

Sweet corns – 1 spoon

Chopped carrot – 1 spoon

Chopped green chilly – 1/4 spoon

Chopped onion – 1 spoon

Grated ginger – 1/2 spoon

Green corinder leaves – 1 spoon

Cumin seeds – 1 spoon

Mustard seeds – 1/2 spoon

Asafoetida – 1 pinch

Curry leaves – 15

Black pepper powder – 1/2 spoon

Urd dal -1/2 spoon

Chane ki dal – 1 spoon

Curd – 1 cup

Eno fruit salt – 1 pouch

Water – 1/2 cup

Salt – as per taste

Oil – 3 spoons

Method

Heat a pan and pour 2 spoons of oil.

When oil is hot,add cumin seeds,mustard seeds and asafoetida.

add urd dal and chane ki dal,when cumin seeds and mustard seeds splutter.

Add onion,when both dals are done.

Add peas,capsicum,beans,carrots,sweet corns and green chilly when onions are done.

When vegetables are sauted,add semolina and roast till done but it should not turn brown.

Transfer the mixture in a mixing bowl.

Add curd,water,grated ginger and mix well.

Keep it for rest for 30 minutes.

Heat the appumpatre and grease its cavities.

Add eno salt in the mixture and gently fold the mixture.

Pour 1 spoon of mixture in each cavity.

Keep the gas mode on low.Cover the appumpare.

After 5 minutes,pull the lid and flip the appes.

Again cover the lid and cok for 2 minutes.

Pull the lid and roast the appe on medium gas flame.

Pull out all the appes in a plate.

Rice recipe

Kids always like Pulao,Fried rice.Here is a recipe of Fried rice.You can add vegetables¬† and dry fruits of your kid’s choice.

Ingredients

Rice – 1/2 cup

Chopped carrots – 1/2 cup

Chopped capsicum – 1/2 cup

Chopped beans – 1/2 cup

Peas –¬† 1/2 cup

Sweet corns – 2 spoons

Almonds – 5

Raisins – 5

Green chillies – 2 finely chopped

Onion – 1 finely chopped

Ginger grated – 1 spoon

green coriander leaves – 2 spoons

Bay leaf – 1

Green cardamom – 4

Cloves – 4

Turmeric powder – 1/2 spoon

Red chilly powder – 1/2 spoon

Black pepper powder – 1/4 spoon

Salt to taste

Tomato ketchup – 2 spoons

Oil – 2 spoons

Method

Boil rice in 4 cups of water and strain.

Heat a pan and pour 2 spoons of oil.

Add bay leaf,green cardamom and cloves and let these roast mildly.

When whole spices are done,add cumin seeds.

Add almonds and raisins when cumin seeds start to splutter.

Add green chillies and ginger when almonds and raisins are lightly roasted.

Now add chopped onions and saute till translucent.

Add turmeric powder,black pepper powder and red chilly powder and let these be done.

Add capsicum,beans,corns,carrots and peas and saute.

Add tomato ketchup and mix.

Now comes the turn of fried rice.Add rice and mix gently so that rice grains may not get broken.

Put the lid on the pan and cook for 1 minute on low mode of gas.

Put off the lid and and mix gently.

Add coriander leaves and mix well.

Serve and enjoy.

Frankie recipe

Frankie is a version of Kathi roll.Stuffing wrapped in a roti or parantha is what about parantha or kathi roll.Frankie is a food of modern times.Its origin is no older than 19th century.It is a handy food that does not require plates.It is a takeaway food that can be eaten on the go.

Ingredients

Wheatflour dough for chapati

Boiled,peeled potatoes – 4

Garlic paste – 1 spoon

Ginger – 1 spoon

Frankie masala – 2 spoons

Corinder leaves – 2 spoons

Salt as per taste

Green chutney

Green chillies soaked in white vinegar

Onion rings

Method

To make stuffing,heat a pan and pour 2 spoons of oil.

When oil is hot,add garlic and ginger paste.

Add frankie masala when ginger and garlic pastes are done.

Break the potatoes and add when frankie masala is done.

Saute potatoes in masala and add coriander leaves.

Mix and stuffing for frankie is ready.

Roll a chapati a little bigger and thinner than the ordinary chapati.

Bake on tawa till lighter brown marks.

Now grease tawa with butter and shallow fry chapaties.

Make cylinders of stuffing and just crisp on butter coated tawa.

To assemble frankie,on the shallow fried chapati,pour a layer of green chutney.

Then put stuffing rolls followed by green chillies,onion rings,green chutney once again.

Roll the chapati and wrap in butter paper.

Frankie is ready.
