Gobhi mussalum

Gobhi mussalum is a modified version of Murgh mussalum.Murgh mussalum belong to India.To make Gobhi mussalum,Whole gobhi(cauliflower) is boiled in saline water and dipped in creamy gravy.


Cauliflower(Gobhi) – 700 grams

Oil – 2 spoons

Bay leaf – 1

Cinnamon stick – 1 small

Whole red chillies – 2

Cloves – 4

Green cardamom – 2

Garlic paste – 1 spoon

Ginger paste – 1 spoon

Onion – 1

Tomatoes – 3

Turmeric powder – 1 spoon

Red chilly powder – 1 spoon

Coriander powder – 11/2 spoon

Cashew paste – 2 spoons

Cream – 1/2 cup

Salt as per taste


To cook Gobhi mussalum,Cut the stem of the cauliflower and wash whole cauliflower.

Put it in boiling water and add salt.

Cook till fully done.

Heat a kadai and pour oil.Add bay leaf,cinnamon stick,whole red chillies,cloves and green cardamoms and saute till done.

Add garlic and ginger paste.Saute till done.

Peel and chop onion.Add chopped onion and saute till done.

Add cumin powder,red chilly powder,turmeric powder and cumin powder and saute till done.

Puree tomatoes and add.Saute till moisture disappears.

Now add cashew paste and saute for 30 seconds.


Add cream and saute for 1 minute.

Add salt and water and cook till oil come over the curry.

Add boiled whole cauliflour and pour curry over the cauliflower.

Cover the lid and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Gobhi mussalum is ready.
